Crater of Diamonds State Park

Deep in rural Arkansas, there’s a state park that allows visitors to bring their buckets, wagons, sifters, and shovels, and spend their day mining for diamonds. After paying an entrance fee to the park, any gems found on the site can be kept free of charge.

The 2024 Total Eclipse & Grape Country

Upon hearing about the eclipse late last year, we decided to make a detour in our route to be in the path of totality for the 2024 eclipse. That detour took us to a little spot out in Arkansas’s grape country, near a town called Altus.
