New York

Harvest Host Sites
You may have seen that we went fairly quickly through the lower part of New York, bypassing the Big Apple.
There was no way I was going to drive a 40′ fifth wheel through New York, so unfortunately, we had to skip the city. Yikes!
Star Trek Tour
This awesome Star Trek Original Series replica set is located in the little town of Ticonderoga, New York.
It is a near exact recreation of the original Star Trek 1960’s tv set complete with blinking lights and sounds.
As Trekkies ourselves, we were over the moon being able to visit a place like this!
Watkins Glen State Park
Located at the southern end of the Finger Lakes area in New York is Watkins Glen State Park. This long and narrow state park runs along the course of Glen Creek. If you’re up for a hike, you can walk up creek and down for a four mile round trip or you can simply hike it one way and take the shuttle back. We opted for the former although by the time we hit Jacob’s Ladder at the end of the trail, we could have sworn we had climbed all the way to the heavens.
Letchworth State Park
Letchworth State Park is near the Finger Lakes area of New York and was actually voted the number one state park in the U.S.
I can see why it would rank up near the top, but since we have been to a lot of state parks in the last year, I can think of a few that would out rank it.
Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls lies between Lake Erie to the south and Lake Ontario to the north. The swiftly flowing Niagara River flows in between the two Great Lakes and in the center is the ever flowing, ever powerful Niagara Falls.
The Niagara River splits Canada and the U.S. border so while the falls can be viewed from the American side, the better view happens when you cross the river into Canada and look at it from the other side.
